Like a fine wine or natural sunscreen… it takes time to get it right.

The Auctiv brand was founded by my friend John nearly 20 years ago in the form of a surf apparel company.  And Auctiv was very successful right from the start.

All the local surf shops were stocking John’s apparel.  Everyone in our hometown was wearing the stuff, myself included.  And retailers from as far away as Japan were flying John out to talk about bringing the brand abroad.

Quite impressive, especially when you consider that John was still an underclassmen in High School.

When it came time to choose between continuing with the budding business or going to college, John tabled Auctiv to pursue a degree.  

Years later, John and two of his best friends decided to launch a new business… an all natural skincare line.  But first they needed a name.

After much debate, they settled on their favorite idea… bring back AUCTIV!

From the day they picked the name, it took two long years for the trio to develop their first product, an all natural facestick in two colors (cocoa and vanilla).  Thanks to all the hard work and patience they put into its development, they were very proud of their products. And customers loved them too, giving the facesticks 4.5 out of 5 stars in early reviews.

The next product was always going to be a natural mineral sunscreen lotion.  Again, they took great care with its development to be sure it could live up to the quality of Auctiv’s first products.

It was another two years of research, testing and development before they got it right.

Today Auctiv is proud to launch THREE new products.  The first two are the long awaited all natural mineral sunscreen lotions, in white and bronze.  All the ingredients are natural and/or organic. And we believe they are every bit as amazing as the facesticks.  

The third lotion is a magnesium cream we discovered along the way.  We can’t wait to tell you more about that soon. Trust us, it’s a must have.

Auctiv has come a long way in the last 20 years, and like a fine wine after some aging, we think it’s only getting better.
